**Short Course in Practical TV Repair**

This TV repair course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to repair all types of TVs, from CRT, LCD, LED, to OLED. It covers both theory and practical aspects, enabling learners to analyze and fix problems professionally, with instruction from industry experts and the use of modern equipment.

**TV Repair Course (5 days)**

**Day 1: TV Basics**
- Introduction to different types of TVs (CRT, LCD, LED, OLED) and the workings of screens and backlight technology.
- Explanation of main TV components such as the main board, power supply, T-con board, inverter board, and their functions.
- Basic tools for TV repair: digital multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator, and SMD rework station.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting common TV issues like no display, no sound, no signal, and color distortion.

**Day 2: TV Electrical Systems and Circuits**
- Reading and understanding TV electrical circuits, analyzing switch mode power supplies, flyback transformers in CRTs, and DC-DC converters.
- Measuring voltage and current with a digital multimeter and using an oscilloscope to analyze faulty signals.
- Repairing damaged electrical circuits by replacing capacitors, resistors, diodes, MOSFETs, and ICs.
- Troubleshooting and fixing power supply issues like no power, low voltage, and high voltage spikes.

**Day 3: Image and Sound Repair**
- Issues with images such as dead pixels, ghosting, image retention, and backlight bleeding: causes and solutions.
- Fixing image problems by adjusting white balance, gamma correction, and replacing the T-con board.
- Sound issues like no sound, distorted sound, and audio delay: analyzing audio circuits and repairs.
- Fixing sound problems by replacing audio ICs, checking and replacing speakers, and updating firmware.

**Day 4: Maintenance and Problem Prevention**
- TV maintenance and cleaning techniques such as using an air blower, checking, and replacing thermal paste on heat sinks.
- Checking and preventing issues from usage like heat dissipation and short circuit protection.
- Using and maintaining TV repair tools, including calibrating a digital multimeter and replacing the SMD rework station tip.
- Testing and verifying TV functionality after repair using a pattern generator for screen testing and checking HDMI signals.

**Day 5: Hands-On TV Repair**
- Inspecting and repairing real TV issues, analyzing and fixing problems encountered in real scenarios.
- Initial problem assessment like checking the power supply, testing input/output signals, and measuring voltages in various circuits.
- Evaluating TV repairs, checking the functionality of all features such as internet connectivity and firmware updates.
- Summary and Q&A session to ensure learners understand TV repair techniques and can apply their knowledge practically.

**Expected Outcomes:**
- Learners can analyze and troubleshoot TV problems.
- Learners can efficiently repair and maintain TVs.
- Learners can use TV repair tools correctly and safely.

This course is designed to provide learners with advanced technical knowledge and practical TV repair skills.

**Prerequisites:**
Learners should have prior knowledge of electronics, basic board repair skills, or have taken Dako’s electronics course.
